For this project, Reis created a wall-sized digital mural, a translation of her collaged Japanese paper painting practice, overlaid with framed collages of local flora. While walking the length of the mural, the aim is for the viewer to experience various topographies as if seen out of the corner of their eye, giving an abstract impression of sun, breeze, and foliage while moving through the San Diego landscape.

32° 43’ 58” N 117° 08’ 51” W Moreton Bay Fig Balboa II (Spring Morning) (Midsummer Glow) & (Twilight Hush) - triptych,
charcoal, pencil, acrylic, watercolor, Lokta, Chiri, Unryu mulberry, Mango, Banana Leaf, Tengujo, and Katazome papers on paper
"I was born and raised in Southern California, and I am deeply connected to the trees there. I was thrilled to be able to create a piece based on the historic Moreton Bay Fig Tree in Balboa Park. Planted in 1915 it has become an integral part of the community as well as a pilgrimage site for tree lovers of all stripes.
My vision for this piece was to portray this magnificent tree through shifting hours and changing moods. Each section evokes a different mood within the same ecosystem, as though capturing the environment at various hours or emotional states
The first panel, bathed in the tender greens of early spring morning—fresh, full of promise.
The second panel, aglow with the golden warmth of a summer sun at its zenith—radiant, alive.
The third panel, hushed in the tranquil blues and deep greens of twilight—cool, contemplative, eternal."
unique commissioned triptych - located on Level 1 in the seating corridor near the East Entry
